I began designing this case in November of 2015 long before I owned a 3D Printer. You SHOULD have your printer tuned to consistently print a 70° overhang without supports. This is especially important for the palm rests of the top case. If you plan to paint it, you should be able to sand and fill the imperfections from the nasty overhang before printing. This is the only extreme overhang. Exceptions: ----------------------- RKade_Case_Bottom: I recommend printing it vertically with the handles up in the air, slightly steeper than 45° (I used a 50° angle with good success). You will also want a raft, and enforced supports for ~50-75 layers. Shoulder Buttons: No raft, just supports. Be careful not to break the poles when removing the supports. # Printing Update 6/30/18: I have finalized the new DPad design (Inspired by the original Nintendo design). I have added these files: RKade_DPadButton.stl and RKade_DPadPlate.stl Update 6/29/18: Uploaded new bottom clip STL's and progress photos. Removed Old (non "supported") top clip and old bottom clip files. Removed shoulder buttons and related brackets / clips / mounts - need redesigning, don't use the old ones. I'm designing new ones currently and will be adding them soon. Update 6/24/18: I have added "Supported" versions of the Case_Top objects, including the support mesh. These are oriented differently than the raw Case_Top STL's, and therefore you cannot simply add the support mesh to the non-supported STL's All of the STL's should be printed independently, with 100% infill. The only exception to this is the external case parts (STL's beginning with "RKade_Case_") need to be printed as composite parts with the shell and the components printed as one object. They should eventually be combined with a Boolean union operation, but I just haven't done that yet and since Slic3r can do composite prints, I haven't needed to do it. Other than that, have fun and good luck. Do NOT expect this print to work correctly on the first try! I've probably printed this 10+ times by now, and I'm not done yet. # Design Notes - Personal observations - Shoulder button design and assembly is bad and needs reworking.
