# ENG-DESIGN-ACADEMY-0002A — Practice and Certification Engine

## Purpose

Create a controlled practice queue for all 371 installed design skills. The engine calls the local SHiRE brain, records evidence on the SHiREVault network drive, evaluates six mandatory practice dimensions and updates certification state without granting unsupported authority.

## Certification lanes

- **Digital certification — 44 skills:** requirements engineering, research/provenance and documentation/release. These may become Forge-eligible after all deterministic tests and digital proof artifacts pass.
- **Tool evidence — 96 skills:** geometry, CAD, Blender, rendering, aesthetics and validation. Knowledge practice may pass, but Forge remains locked until real editable tool artifacts and repeatability tests exist.
- **Physical evidence — 154 skills:** printing, materials, mechanisms, mounts, scanning, ergonomics, toys, household, manufacturing and commercial product work. Knowledge practice may pass, but calibrated machine or physical evidence is mandatory.
- **Professional review — 77 skills:** high-risk mechanical, electronics, architecture, prosthetic and regulated-safety areas. Knowledge practice is permitted only for classification, documentation, refusal and escalation. Forge remains locked pending named qualified review.

## Safety

The engine cannot enable a professional-review skill automatically. It never treats model text as physical testing, CAD-tool execution or clinical/engineering approval. Unknown licences are quarantined. All practice evidence is written to `/SHiREVault/SHiREAcademy/Practice`; execution stops if that location is not a verified CIFS/SMB/NFS filesystem.

## Worker

The optional systemd worker processes one skill at a time with a cooldown and low CPU/IO weights. It depends on the local `shire-brain.service`. The service file is staged in the repository but is not installed or enabled by the patch installer.
